1.Application Environment

The KCL501 integrated on-line chloride ion sensor uses a solid-membrane Ion selective electrode to measure free chloride ions in water quickly, easily, accurately and economically. The technical parameters, communication protocol and operation and maintenance of the chlorine ion sensor are described in detail in this manual.

2.Feature

  • Signal Output: RS-485 bus, Modbus/RTU protocol, easy to connect to PLC, DCS, Industrial Control Computer, General Controller, paperless recording instrument or touch screen and other third-party equipment.
  • The patented chloride ion electrode, with an internal reference fluid at a pressure of at least 100 k pa (1 bar) , oozes extremely slowly from the microporous salt bridge. Such a reference system is very stable and the electrode life is longer than ordinary industrial electrode life.
  • Easy to install: 3/4”NPT pipe threads, easy to sink or install in piping and tank.”. I-p-68, containment level.

5.Installation and Electrical Connection

Note: The sensor can not be installed upside down or horizontally, at least tilt

more than 15 degrees angle installation.

Electrical Connection

The cable is a 4-core twisted pair shielded wire defined in line sequence:

Red wire -- power cord (12 ~ 24 VDC)

Black line (GND)

Blue Line -- 485 a

White line -- 485 b

Before electrification, the wiring sequence should be carefully checked to avoid

unnecessary losses caused by wiring errors.

Wiring instructions: Consider the cable long-term immersion in water (including seawater) or exposed to air, all wiring are required to do waterproof treatment, customer cable should have a certain anti-corrosion ability.

 

6.Maintenance

6.1 Use and Maintenance

Remove the protective cap on the electrode head. Note: Do Not Touch the sensitive part of the electrode tip with your finger.

The electrode should be kept dry before use. The sensor of the electrode should be put into the protective bottle. Before testing, the electrodes should be immersed in running water for 24 hours with electric current. If stored overnight or longer, the electrode head should be cleaned with deionized water, dried, and then placed in the original packaging.

Check whether the terminal is dry, if there is any dirt, please wipe with absolute alcohol, blow dry after use. Long-term immersion in distilled water or protein solutions should be avoided and contact with silicone oils should be avoided. The electrode is used for a long time. If there is any measurement error, it must be corrected with the instrument.

When the electrode can not be calibrated and measured after being maintained in the above way, please replace the electrode.

Interference ion: Sulfur Ion, iodine ion, bromine ion, etc. .

 

6.2 Calibration

Note: The sensor has been calibrated before the factory, if not out of measurement error should not be arbitrary calibration.

Zero calibration

Place the sensor in a vial containing a standard solution of zero point and wait 5 minutes for the value to stabilize to see if it is within the range of error, or if it is not, zero calibration is required. Reference Appendix to calibration instruction.

Slope calibration

Place the sensor in a vial containing the slope standard solution and wait 5 minutes until the values are stable to see if they are within the error range. If not, slope calibration is required. Reference Appendix to calibration instruction.

7.Quality and Service

Quality Assurance

Quality inspection departments have standardized inspection procedures, with advanced and perfect testing equipment and means, and in strict accordance with the rules of inspection, 72 -hour

aging of products to do experiments, stability experiments, do not let a unqualified product factory.
