1. Project Background

A large machinery manufacturing plant operates bearing cooling ponds for heat treatment and machining processes. Stable water level in these ponds is critical for cooling efficiency and production safety. Traditional manual measurements are delayed and cannot detect abnormal levels in real time.

2. Product Features and Site Configuration

Actual Site Parameters:

  • Measurement range: 700 mm
  • Output signal: RS485 (Modbus RTU) connected to the plant automation system
  • Display: On-site LCD

3. Installation and Site Conditions

  • Mounting: probe vertically suspended in the center or side of the cooling pond
  • Protection: corrugated tube to shield cable from water flow and mechanical wear
  • Level control logic:
    • Trigger water refill when water level drops below low threshold
    • Stop refill when water level exceeds high threshold

This closed-loop monitoring ensures stable water levels, maintaining cooling efficiency and production safety.


4. Operational Performance

  • Cooling pond water level maintained at approx. 600 mm
  • RS485 signal continuously transmitted to automation system
  • After 3 months, refill cycles optimized, and abnormal level alarms worked reliably
