A municipal wastewater treatment plant has a sedimentation tank with a depth of 10 meters. For a long time, the plant relied on manual sludge level measurement, which was inefficient and posed safety risks. To achieve intelligent management, the plant installed the Split Ultrasonic Depth Sounder to enable real-time sludge level monitoring and integrate with the plant's SCADA system.
During commissioning, the device was installed in a sedimentation tank with a diameter of 20 m and depth of 10 m. Below is a 24-hour monitoring data excerpt:
Time | Sludge Level (m) | Output Current (mA) | SCADA Status |
---|---|---|---|
08:00 | 2.1 | 8.4 | Normal |
10:00 | 3.5 | 10.8 | Normal |
12:00 | 5.8 | 13.6 | Warning (High Level) |
14:00 | 7.9 | 16.3 | Alarm (High Level) |
16:00 | 4.0 | 11.2 | Returned to Normal |
20:00 | 6.2 | 14.0 | Elevated but Normal |
00:00 | 2.5 | 9.0 | Normal |
06:00 | 3.2 | 10.4 | Normal |
Notes:
By implementing the Split Ultrasonic Depth Sounder, the wastewater treatment plant achieved:
With its high accuracy (1% -3%), fine resolution (5 mm), robust protection (IP68), and low power consumption, the device is an ideal solution for sludge level monitoring in municipal wastewater applications.
