1, Inductive conductivity sensor technology status and characteristics

Inductance type conductivity sensor uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to measure the conductivity. The conductivity of the liquid is proportional to the induced voltage/excitation voltage in a certain range. The excitation voltage remains unchanged, and the conductivity is proportional to the induced voltage.

Inductive conductivity sensor detector does not directly contact with the liquid to be measured, therefore, there is no electrode polarization and electrode pollution problems.The principle of inductive conductivity sensor determines that this type of sensor is only suitable for the measurement of liquids with high conductivity: the measurement range is 1000-2000000 μs/cm.

Inductive conductivity sensor has the following characteristics: 1) extremely strong pollution resistance and corrosion resistance;2) there is no electrode polarization, capacitance effect, can be used for high conductivity liquid measurement;3) Simple structure, easy to use;4) Simple production process.

2, the application of inductive conductivity sensor

Inductive conductivity sensor is mostly used for the measurement and detection of high conductivity liquid: 1) ocean development and research, the salinity of the sea water measurement and analysis (deep sea temperature and salt deep profile recorder);2) Water quality testing of domestic and industrial wastewater;3) Monitoring and analysis of single component solution concentration in chemical production process;4) Used for the measurement of strong acid and alkali concentration.

3, Inductive conductivity sensor key technology

1) Encapsulation of sensor detector

The excitation coil and the induction coil need to be strictly on the same axis. In order to improve the measurement accuracy, the turns need to be closely arranged, and there need to be good shielding between the turns to reduce the generation of interference coupling.

2) Exciting voltage and frequency

The excitation voltage and frequency determine the sensitivity and linearity of the inductive conductivity sensor. Based on the determination of the sensor structure, the excitation voltage and frequency and other parameters are determined through experiments, so that the sensor can obtain the best sensitivity and linearity.

3) Detector miniaturization

Inductive conductivity sensor detection is composed of coils, detector miniaturization is to reduce the diameter of the coil and reduce the number of turns, the coil diameter is too small, too few turns will affect the sensor measurement sensitivity and measurement range.

4, the future development trend of inductive conductivity sensor

1) Sensor miniaturization has become one of the development directions of inductive conductivity sensors.The development of material processing and preparation technology makes it possible to achieve miniaturization of detectors and thus miniaturization of sensors.

2) Inductive conductivity sensor is combined with SCM and microsystem technology to realize the automation of conductivity measurement.By using these techniques, the adjustable excitation signal is realized, so that the measurement accuracy and linearity are improved.

With the development of conductivity measurement technique, electrical conductivity sensor has been developed from the first two electrode type, inductance type to multiple electrode conductivity sensor development, micro electrode conductivity sensor, it can be seen: electrode, microelectrode, microstructure has become more conductivity sensor development direction, and combined with single-chip microcomputer, micro system technology, realize the automation of conductivity measurement, the motors.
